John Shea is a retired first responder running to represent Staten Island's North Shore in the New York City Council.
Meet John: A Lifetime of Service & Commitment to Staten Island
For two decades, I had the privilege of serving the people of New York City. Now, I'm asking for your support to continue that service as the North Shore's next New York City Council Member.
Raised on the North Shore, I attended both public and Catholic schools while growing up.
Later in life, while I was still a first responder, I got married, bought a house, and raised my three daughters on the North Shore. During my NYPD career, I responded to the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. Along with many others, I worked at Ground Zero in the weeks that followed, helping in the search, rescue, and recovery efforts.
As a NYC firefighter here on Staten Island’s North Shore, I also aided the everyday needs of our community, including the recovery process Staten Island faced after the devastating effects of Super Storm Sandy.
Now, I desire to once again serve the residents of the North Shore. If given the opportunity, I will work with every community every day. Together, we can make changes and take steps towards making Staten Island the best borough in New York City.
